100年ほど前に、秋の高山祭で奉納された神楽獅子の古写真をサンプリング。獅子頭の毛並みを模様化した獅子の姿は現在の神楽獅子と全く一緒。今と違うのは人々の服装くらいです。珍しそうにカメラを見ている先祖たちの表情が新鮮です。
災いを払う存在として今も昔も高山の街に無くてはならない大事な風習。背中には約70年前の観光案内冊子デザインを閉じ込めました。

Sampled an old photograph of a kagura lion dedicated at the Takayama Festival in autumn about 100 years ago. The lion's form, with its mane patterned like fur, is identical to the kagura lions of today. The only difference is the people's clothing. The expressions of our ancestors, looking curiously at the camera, feel fresh.
As a presence that wards off misfortune, it remains an indispensable and important custom in Takayama, both now and in the past. On its back, we've enclosed the design from a tourist guidebook from about 70 years ago.
